1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup flour
1 cube-1/2 cup butter
2   eggs -- beaten
1 cup buttermilk -- mixed with items below:
1 tsp. soda
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
     
1/2 cup nuts--chopped (for topping)

Instructions

Cream together the first four ingredients. Reserve 1 cup for topping, and add 1/2 cup nuts to that part. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Sprinkle reserved topping over dough. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
